StrategyCorp Toronto is looking for a Communications Consultant to join our growing Communications team.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As part of the Communications team, you will play an active role in developing and executing strategic communications campaigns for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will help shape messaging, manage elements of communications programs, and contribute to strategic advice provided to clients.

This role is ideal for a communications professional with agency or consulting experience who is ready to take on greater ownership of client work and campaign execution. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Lead elements of communications campaigns and day-to-day execution 
  • Develop and implement earned media, digital, and social media strategies 
  • Draft high-quality communications materials including media releases, briefing notes, messaging documents, and digital content 
  • Build relationships with journalists and support media outreach 
  • Provide day-to-day support on client accounts and contribute to strategic communications advice 
  • Identify emerging issues and support reputation management strategies 
  • Conduct policy, stakeholder, and media research to inform communications strategies 
  • Manage project timelines and coordinate deliverables across teams 
  • Mentor junior staff or interns where appropriate

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role, you should bring:
  • 2 - 4 years of progressive experience in communications or public relations (agency experience preferred) 
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field 
  • Experience executing strategic communications plans involving owned, earned, shared, and paid media 
  • Strong writing and storytelling abilities with minimal oversight 
  • Experience working with journalists and securing earned media coverage 
  • Strong strategic thinking and issue analysis skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and client expectations 
  • Understanding of the Canadian media landscape and stakeholder environment 
  • Experience developing and implementing digital and social media campaigns 
ASSETS
  • French language proficiency 
  • Formal training in public relations or communications
